Cherry's first time in the pasture! Hope spent the entire morning chasing her little speedster around. Thanks to all the love and support of great people like our friend, Sharon Thomason, these babies are healthy and happy! Not even a year ago, Hope & Justice were left tied to cement blocks with no food or water. Now they run free here at Becky's Hope!

Join our mission by clicking the donate button on our Facebook page or consider donating to their care at www.beckyshope.com. Every penny counts! Thank you for being the change and for making a difference!! #rescueworks #babycherry

Taking the internet by storm, the most unlikely of horses was recently welcomed home to Becky's Hope Horse Rescue in Frisco, Texas.

He has become so popular, he has his own Facebook page, and has been featured on Media outlets around the globe!  Follow his story, and the stories of others, whose rescue is made possible by your generous donations.
Here's how it happened, according to Sue Chapman, the founder of Becky's Hope:
BUBBLES!! A story to warm your heart! When we went to bail the mini donkeys from the kill lot, this skinny, grey gelding walked straight up to our trailer, past the gates, disregarding the commands of the kill lot employees.

He was intent that this was his ride out of there. We stood there staring as this old guy with crumbled ears from frostbite waited patiently for the group of mini donkeys to catch up so he could jump on the "freedom trailer" out of there. There was just no way we could leave him behind!

Thanks to your overwhelming generosity, we had just enough money left over to pay his bail. This sweet, old man won our hearts the minute he decided it was the perfect time to escape the kill lot. It seems that he thought nobody would notice him escaping if he simply mixed in with the mini donkeys!
Bubbles is now safe here at Becky's Hope where he continues to hang out with his mini donkey cohorts. If you need a gift for the animal lover in your life...consider giving them the gift of love by sponsoring Bubbles in their name. He has lots of love to give!

Bubbles The Rescue Horse

Sold at auction to the Kill Pen, (Mexico slaughter pipeline) this handsome gelding made his way thru multiple gates, commands of kill pen employees and down the "shoots" to hitch a ride on Becky's Hope Horse Rescue's Freedom Trailer. While they were loading up 9 mini donkeys, Bubbles (the name given to him by the rescue) patiently waited for his turn. The last two steps on the trailer that afternoon were those of Bubbles. Not knowing where he came from or what he has faced in his prior life, all we know now, is that he has frost bitten ears and a heart of gold. He will never have to wonder if he is loved, if he will have food or water because now, he has a safe haven. He has a place to call home and we are so thrilled he chose us. Who Rescued Who?

Gosh darn it I'm getting worried! Lari was supposed to be back a while ago! She took the "Freedom Trailer", ya know, the one me 'n the donks came home to Becky's in, down to the kill lot to pick up a horse rescued from slaughter! She's pickin' up a pregnant mare - I hear a real beauty! A foundation quarter horse! Can you imagine!?! How a beautiful foundation quarter horse ended up in that hell hole, I can't even begin to understand!
Anyway, since Lari left this morning, me and the gals - the human volunteers - have been gettin' the quarantine pen ready to go! Fresh hay and water, new salt block, I think it's all set! Now if she'd just get here! I'm a'waitin'! Not going nowhere til they get back! I wanna be the first thing this new gal sees when she gets off that trailer! I'm gonna welcome her and let her know she's in a safe spot, and has nothing to fear! I know it will take her some time before she feels at home! I'm hoping that if she sees me, an old flea-bit gray senior with ragged ears, and sees how well I'm treated, she'll know that she's come to a safe spot!
So that's it for now! I just heard that Lari had a flat tire but everything's ok and she's back on the road. I'm gonna stay right here on the lookout for her. When they come down the lane, I'll let you know, and I'll make sure a photo or two gets taken! Sue's countin' on me to stand guard, and told me to let her know the minute Lari arrives!
You all stay tuned, I'll get cha all up to speed tomorrow - if not before!
Love, Bubbles.

Bubbles The Rescue Horse feeling amazed.Aug 17, 2017 @ 4:12
Wow! I now have 7,500 Facebook followers! That’s a landmark number in my book! It’s a mighty amazin’ thing! Like all milestones, I didn't get here with one, big step, but instead, a whole bunch of little ones. One or two posts a day for the past six or seven months! By golly, 7,500 hundred followers! I can’t quite get over it! What a great journey it’s been! I sure hope it continues – I enjoy interactin’ with all y’all so much – it really makes my day!

Besides! I’m still hoping to get on The Ellen Degeneres Show! Gotta always have a long-term goal – no hurt in dreamin’ big, is there!?!?!

Love, Bubbs!

I tell ya! Knowing how close I came to slaughter keeps me humble! And grateful! My life today has more meaning than ever! I ain’t rich, I got no big, fancy education, and I sure as heck ain’t perfect! But escaping a horrific death, then ending up in "horse heaven", (how I think of Becky's Hope Horse Rescue) has given me a new outlook on the world, and it’s an outlook of humbled gratitude!! Don’t get me wrong! I ain’t trying to come across as all proud and self-righteous! Every morning when I wake I can’t help but feel thankful – and grateful -- for all that I have! At the same time, I am humbled by what I’ve been given – like I don’t quite deserve it! You understand what I’m sayin’? I just can’t help but wonder, “why me”? So that’s why I do my posts every day. Not because I think I’m all smart, and I surely ain’t got no book learnin’, but because I figure that if I share what I learnt from my past with y’all, that in turn gives purpose and meanin’ to all that’s happened to me! Don’t want all that good energy that came to me to go to waste! I want to keep it alive by reachin’ out to you all!

Humbly yours,
Bubbles
